The Cleveland Fire Fighters' Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization formed in 1993 for the sole purpose of replacing the orignial Fire Fighter Memorial located in Cleveland's Willard Park at East 9th & Lakeside Avenue.
The Original Memorial was dedicated on October 12, 1965, commemorating the 76 Cleveland Fire Fighters who have given their lives in the line of duty since 1863.
It was the replace the original memorial with one more recognizable and representative of the dangers facing today's fire fighters, while at the same time honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens of Cleveland.
The replacement memorial was installed in 2003.
