The Manatee UM Church was relocated here in 1975 when it was donated by the church. Construction began in 1887, but due to a yellow fever outbreak, it was not completed until 1889. It is also the first Christian church built south of Tampa on the Florida mainland. In 1975 it was saved from demolition when it was moved to Manatee Village which was a American Bi-centennial project and dedicated on the 4th of July 1976.
