This was originally the site of the First Presbyterian Church, it was sold to the Lutherans in 1849. Fire destroyed the original church in the year 1885. The present building was built the same year and is of a modified Romanesque design that duplicates the original Parish Church building for the original immigrants from Alsace-lorraine.
