This lone chimney is located off Azalea Trail in the mountain community of Fleetwood Falls outside of Boone, North Carolina.

We have had a vacation chalet on this mountain since 1988 and have passed this chimney every time we leave or enter the mountain. There are a lot of old homesteads and indian occupation sites in this area.
This chimney has been here atleast 100 years according to the locals. We've visited around this site many times with our kids and have always tried to imagine the family that lived here many years ago. It is in a very peaceful spot and you can almost hear the children of long ago playing here.
