On Armistice Day 1921, 14 trees were planted along Brainard Avenue to commemorate the men killed in WW1 from La Grange, IL.

On July 4, 1998, the site was re-dedicated with new trees and memorials. The entire memorial now consists of 3 markers and 14 newer living trees along the parkway on Brainard Ave in front of Lyons Township High School.
