LeRoy Williams was born Aug. 18,1845 and died Feb 14, 1930. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions on June 3, 1864 during the battle of Cold Spring Harbor. Then as a sergent of the 8th NY Heavy Artillery, he recovered the body of his colonel while under fire. He survived and eventually rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
