This building was the first building designed by Howard as part of his campus master plan for Berkeley. It was dedicated to George Hearst, a successful miner. The building underwent extensive seismic renovation in the late 1990s and reopened in 2003. It is part of the engineering section of the U.C. Berkeley campus.
If you visit this, you MUST go inside if you can. The atrium is spectacular!
