153RHP - Mouth of State Road Run near Fairview - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

Travel north on CR 17 (Fairview-Crossroads Rd) from Fairview town limits 0.69 miles. On the left is the entrance to County Rt. 14 (State Road Run). Marker is just past (10-20ft) CR 14 and behind a utility pole along the left side of CR 17. There is not much room here between CR 17 and Paw Paw Creek so it's hard to miss this bench mark. A man from the house nearby may come out and tell you he is "guarding the stone" (no kidding). He said people had tried to steal it. I didn't want to snap a general-area photo because he seemed really nervous about me being there, so I put a map in the gallery. (This benchmark is on public property in highway right of way).
