Perio mill on the river Nene is being restored as a private home.The land either side of the river is rich and fertile and the river provided the power required to drive the many water mills located along its length. Locally there are water mills at Barnwell (now a public house and hotel under construction), Cotterstock (now private homes), Eaglethorpe (a shop) and Elton(ruin but buildings still standing).
