The Sweet Memorial Building was built in 1929 and was then presented to the Village of Pheonix by friends and family of Thaddeus C. Sweet. Mr. Sweet was well known for his kindly deeds, genial personality and his devotion to his family, state and nation. He was a member of Congress from 1923 to 1928 as well as Speaker of the New York State Assembly from 1914 to 1920. This building serves the community as the primary location for the Village of Pheonix government offices and entities.
