The Crosswinds Marsh was created by flooding a farmland that was originally a marsh. It was made to replace wetlands used to expand the Detroit Metro Airport.

Detroit Metro Wetland Mitigation Dam is on the Disbrow Drain River in Wayne County, Michigan. Construction was completed in 1993. It has a normal surface area of 467 acres. It is owned by Wayne County Division Of Airports.



Detroit Metro Wetland Mitigation is of earthen construction. Its height is 9 feet with a length of 2400 feet. Its capacity is 1870 acre feet. Normal storage is 1400 acre feet. It drains an area of 9.2 square miles
