The Elgin Joliet and Eastern Railroad still uses this bridge every day over US Route 45. The support timbers are wood pilings, some of which still have bark on them.
Please access the waymark from Sangmeister Road located just south of the waymark and DO NOT PARK on US Route 45. There is a nice service road leading right up to the bridge.
