County seat for Bourbon County. The whiskey was named after the county. Much of the boubon traveled up the old buffalo trace to Maysville, where it was loaded onto riverboats on the Ohio. Bourbon was stamped on the barrel heads and that is how it got its name. This is also horse country and a bunch of tobacco was/is grown here.
