If you enjoy wildlife, and birds in particular, this a great place to visit as the land here has never been disturbed by agriculture the way much of the Rio Grande Valley has. After signing the guest book, which is at the end of the counter closest to the entrance door, then talk to the helpful volunteers behind the counter, you can either walk the miles of paths, trails and roads, or take the tram for a cram course about the refuge, though with all the noise the tram makes, don't expect to much in the way of wildlife.

Below are several photos to give you an idea of what you might discover at this little bit of Eden.
