The original Saint Madeleine Church was built in 1925 and moved to its current location in 1979. A stone marker in front of the old church, which sits on the grounds of the new church, reads as follows: "This is the original Saint Madeleine Church. It was built in 1929 at 140 N.E. 2nd Ave. and 2nd St. in High Springs. In an effort to preserve our parish heritage it was moved to this site on December 26, 1979."
