The New River Forestry Station is located on State Road 100 about 7 miles west of Starke, Florida. It is part of the Division of Forestry within the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. The Florida Division of Forestry is responsible for wildfire protection and suppression. In addition to managing State Forests for multiple public uses including timber, recreation and wildlife habitat, they also provide services to landowners throughout the state with technical information and grant programs.
