There are 11 railway and roadway bridges crossing the canal. Roadway vertical lift bridges, with a clearance above the water of 36.6m (120 ft),are located at Glendale Ave. St. Chathrines; Highway No.20 Allanburg; and Clarence Street Port Colburne. Railway lift bridges are located in Thorald South and Port Colburne. This one is along a section of the old canal that is not used anymore. However, the old canal is perfect for recreation and was being used by snow mobilers and ice fishermen today!
