The War Memorial, a block of rose hued granite, is located on Main Street in Fredericksburg,Texas at the left front of the Gillespie Courthouse. A tribute to all veterans who have served our great nation, it has a large flagpole which rises immediately behind the marker. In front of the memorial are four stones which list the organizations which sponsored the memorial.

Fredericksburg has a long and storied history of answering the call to arms, with two of her more prominent young men being Admiral Chester Nimitz, Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Pacific Forces during WW II and General Michael W. Hagee, the 33rd US Marine Corps Commandant.

Description of Memorial: This Memorial is located along Main Street in Fredericksburg in front of the current Court House. Nearby is a unique Eagle Tree Carving, The Museum of the Pacific War, plus all the great German restaurants which help make Fredericksburg a must stop to anyone driving through the area.
