The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida serves the residents of twenty-three counties. These are Alachua, Bay, Calhoun, Dixie, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington counties.

The Court Building finished in 1963 under President John F Kennedy is still used today. It still uses the old style architecure. it has the Great seal of The United States beside the doorways. The building also house a United States Post Office.
