I traveled The Oregon Trail with an Elderhostel group from Kansas City/Independence, Missouri to Oregon City, Oregon June 13-28, 2007. We traveled through the Blue Mounains on Tuesday, June 26.
More than three months travel by covered wagons from Independence, Missouri and other "Jumping-off places" found the Oregon emigrants in the Blue Mountains.
This is a Northwest Forest Pass site. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, on Tuesdays through Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Interpretive Site, Accessible, Picnic tables, Toilets, and Drinking water. Daily vehicle parking fee is $5.00/day for both picnic and trailhead use.
Instructions for logging waymark: A photograph is required of you (or your GPS receiver, if you are waymarking solo) and the Blue Mountain Crossing signboard.
