The Florida Museum of Natural History is Florida's state museum of natural history, and is dedicated to understanding, preserving, and interpreting biological diversity and cultural heritage. General Admission is free, although donations are gladly accepted. There is a cover charge for special exhibits and the Butterfly Rainforest. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. At the time of posting this waymark, the entrance area of the museum exhibits building was under renovation. However, the museum remains open during the construction, even though the front entrance may be blocked off at times. If the front doors are closed, visitors are instructed to please follow the signs around to the rear of the building to the temporary entrance.
