The display of a caboose in this park calls to attention the history of the railroad in the area - the nearby Enola Freight Yard was built in on the west bank of the Susquehanna River in 1905 and served as an important staging area for the region and for rail travel to the west. In fact the freight yard is in use to this day - now operated by the P.R.R.'s 2nd generation successor - Norfolk Southern.
This caboose was dedicated on the grounds of the park in conjunction with the Enola Freight Yard's 100th anniversary celebration in 2005.
Current Use: park display
Type Of Caboose: Cupola, "Standard"
