Barrow Town Hall clock is over 130 years old,and has a very rare mechanism which is a Remintoir 30 second escarpment, which moves the minute hand every 30 seconds the winding rejoices in the name of epicyclic weight transfer gear train system, and is an example of Victorian ingenuity.
An interesting fact is that the big hand pointer travels 57 miles a year, and takes 35 years for it to travel 2000 miles, this means the recent big service the clock underwent recently was it's 10.000 mile service.
