There is plenty to do for the children as the museum is totally hands-on giving lots of interactive displays. Volunteers do a wonderful job of sorting the exhibits and there is a wealth of information.
Although Milton Keynes is a very modern, new city there is a lot of history, especially from the old villages that still exist within MK. The exhibits date back to 1800 upwards and include a working, on site telephone exchange and an alley of shops designed as a street which would have existed in the olden days. The actual museum is based on an old farm and consists of Farmhouse, Works Boardroom, Schoolroom, Kitchen Garden, Victorian Kitchen, Farming, Horses, Printshop from the old print works at MacCorquodales, Hall of Transport, Tram and Lawnmowers.
