According to the Ram Brewing Company website, their beer is 'Locally Brewed, Nationally Recognized! “Bigger, Better, Fresher” is more than a slogan at the Ram; it is our promise. Our focus on quality, consistency and drinkability has been rewarded over the years with guest loyalty and industry recognition having been awarded over 40 medals, including 24 GABF medals, 7 World Beer Cup medals, and voted Brewery of the year.'According to the marker at the entrance, The Oregon Iron & Steel Co. smelter began production on this site in 1888. Capable of producing 50 tons of pig iron daily, these works replaced the 1865, 10 ton Oregon Iron Co. furnace at the mouth of Oswego Creek - the first smelter on the Pacific Coast. The new works chimney was visible for four miles. The smelter consumed 1.3 acres daily of old-growth Douglas fir as fuel. Rising costs, legal disputes, and declining prices forced the closure of the smelter in 1894.
Ram Brewing Company has been family owned and operated since 1971. Hours of Operation Monday - Sunday 11:00am – Close.
