Kendal High School for Girls opened in 1890. In 1980, it merged with the boys grammar school to form Kirkbie Kendal School, which ran for a while on a split site. Eventually closing this site to consolidate all activity on current Kirkbie Kendal site. Once shut, it was sold for accommodation.
