Java School No.1 was founding around 1850 in Java Village, New York. There the school played an important role as an education institution in the area. The school now stands as the Java Village museum and the headquarters for the Java Historical Society (which was established in 1974).

Because of its historical significance, this building has been listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. It was important from an educational and architectural standpoint between 1850 - 1950. For more information about the history/establishment of Java please visit (visit link)
