On the Promenade, by The Ferry pub, is a park with a pretty unique, and large, weathervane atop a tall pole. It has a nautical theme to reflect its position by Walney Channel.

A cracking design reflecting boats and the sea. It has the cardinal points invoking a ships wheel; wire rigging reaches up and turns the pole into a mast; and a large sculpture of the moon and waves (and is that a sea gull's head & beak?) for the vane itself.
