Isaac and Mary Cody moved their family to Le Clair, Iowa. They purchased a farm in 1841 and built a small log cabin upon it. William Frederick Cody was born on February 26, 1846. Eight months later, the Cody family moved off this farm. The farm was sold March 9, 1852. Today, the Cody Farm has been incorporated into a larger farm and the location where their cabin once stood is in a farm field ¼ mile north of this historic marker.
