The Jacksonville Equestrian Center opened in 2004 on land that was formerly part of NAS Cecil Field. The facilities include a large indoor arena for competitions, outdoor arenas, stables, RV & trailer parking, concessions, and vendor areas. Its a popular location throughout the region for a large number of equestrian related events.
With everything horse-related going on, its only appropriate that the drive-up to the building includes a statue of a horse. No information is displayed regarding the history of the statue, but the animal's proud stance is a sight to see when approaching the main arena.
