This retired 75 cubic yard dragline bucket can be easily seen and accessed on highway 306 near Aurora NC. It is located in a parking area next to one of the PCS mine entrances. These huge buckets are used to dig out phosphate which is contained in many products from fertilizer to toothpaste. The PCS phosphate mine is this areas largest employer. Many fossils are found during the mining process and some can be seen at the nearby Aurora Fossil Museum.
