Completed in 1913, the museum in Letchworth State Park houses the personal collection of William Pryor Letchworth. Mr. Letchworth was responsible for donating the Glen Iris (his homestead) and his estate (comprising of 1,000 acres) of the park which included the Upper, Middle and Lower Waterfalls in 1907 so that the gorge would remain a place of inspiration and beauty forever.
Theme: The historical collection reflects Mr. Letchworth’s interest in the Native American culture and pioneer life in the Genesee Valley, as well as the history of the development of the park.
