This bridge is mainly used by the farmer and walkers. The Cumbria Way passes very close to Low Yewdale bridge, as you do not cross Yewdale Beck at this point, but continue on beside the beck towards Boon Crag.

Low Yewdale area is owned or managed by the National Trust. The nearby cottages have National Trust tenants, one of which is a Bed and Breakfast. Arthur Ransome once stayed at the Cottages, "where water was dipped from a beck running by the cottage and you might easily find a minnow swimming in the jug." (visit link)

The bridge has interesting walls showing the different ages of construction. The upright slates in the middle are oldest, with more recent horizontal stones ending in stone capped pillars.

The construction of the bridge is exposed with the central stones forming the deck surface showing through. Normally these stones are covered by rubble and waste stone.

A popular bridleway crosses over the bridge.
