Located in the South East corner of the square, in Lexington, NC. It was originally built in the center of the square in the roadway. After several years of being driven around, it was struck several times by motor vehicles. ( Note the chips in the granite ) So it was moved to it's current location. Old postcards show the previous location clearly. Very popular with the locals and visitors alike. It's very common to see people taking pictures of the monument most any day. Located directly across the street from the Old Davidson Co. Courthouse ( 2 S. Main St. Lexington, NC 27292 ).
