This boilerplate Apollo capsule was one of several used for testing the spacecraft used for launching astronauts to the moon. Each of the boilerplates had a serial number but the exact serial number is unknown for this one. It is from the 1200 series but is now just known as BP-K.
It used to be located at 1740 NASA Road One, Nassau Bay, Texas but was moved due to reconstruction. It was temporarily relocated to a parking lot on the Johnson Space Center complex before it was placed at its new, permanent home next to the T-38 Talon display.
Hours: Publicly accessible 24 hours a day at the entrance to the Space Center visitor center.
