The Prairie Style horizontal massing of the First National Bank of Dwight was reinforced by the rustic Bedford limestone blocks and the deeply recessed horizontal windows.

When the bank was modernized after the Second World War, some of the Wright detailing was covered or removed on the interior.

In the 1960’s the bank chose to restore the building back to the Wright era and detailing.

You can even build your own paper model of this Frank Lloyd Wright designed bank courtesy of the Illinois Main Street Program.

If you go during normal business hours and it is not too busy and you ask really, really nicely, they might (no guarantees) let you take a few photos of the lobby and boardroom. No other interior photos are permitted. If you are not permitted to take photos that day, they do have a brochure available at the checkwriting desk.
