The construction of this building is dated from 1905 to 1907. The author of this project was profesor of german brno technic university Ferdinand Hrach. Since the beginning was this object used for govermental purposes. Different offices seated here such as Land Register Office, Tax Office, Regional people's committee and detachement offices of some ministries. Also Moravian Archive has here its space. When new regional division of the Czech Republic came into force in 2000, the "Jihomoravsky kraj" make it its new seat. The building enjoys protection as an architectonical monument.
