Dodford is a small, quaint village just off the A45 in Northamptonshire. Nearby is the junction of the A5/A45 in Weedon and further east is Flore, Upper Heyford and Junction 16 on the M1. This Post Box is situated in the wall of a grand house and estate near to the ford in the village. The pictures show all of these features in detail. The ford runs along a stream which is a tributary to the River Nene and the stream is sourced just along to the west near Daventry at 'Burnt Walls'.
The route into Dodford follows a series of narrow, twisted lanes and to the north-east lies Brockhall with a gated road leading through a scenic estate and farm. We hope you will visit and enjoy this village, it has a series of footpaths running through it including one which takes you by the stream and ford. The ford is unique in respect that it runs a good 50 metres and has an exit and entrance which are not opposite each other.
