The Riverside #5 Mill Bell was made in 1894 and was located in the bell tower at the Number 5 Mill, Riverside Division, then known as the Riverside Cotton Mills. This was one of several bells, which was rung to signal the start of the work day at the mills. Today old #5 Bell is on permanent display near the Old Riverside Mills, later known as Dan River Mills. The Old #5 Bell is locate on Baltimore Street just west of Main Street in the City of Danville, Virginia.
