Pine Forest is a visual and performing arts magnet that is dedicated to excellence in academics and the arts. Pine Forest was settled in the nineteenth century, mostly by African-Americans who worked for people in South Jacksonville. The School Board acquired the property in 1959 and built the school in 1960.
