Within the Astronaut Memorial Hall is the International Hall of Space Explorers, a celebration of those who have flown into space and in remebrance of those who perished in that pursuit.
Visitors to this facility are often surprised to find that their homeland, or that of their ancestors, is represented in the Hall. Flags of over 30 nations fly overhead, in the order that they joined the "space explorers club."
Unique to the facility, the International Hall of Space Explorers is a collection of memorabilia from each country to have had a person fly to space. Only three nations — Russia (former USSR), The United States, and China — have manned launch capability. However, many citizens of other nations have hitched a ride into space with one of them.
Display cases hold mementoes of those journeys from collectors, governments, and the astronauts themselves. Here you will find an authentic V2 engine, scale models of the Saturn V and Space Shuttle, and numerous photographs, mission badges, and other objects. Many items in the collection have flown in space.
