Tree Hill's nature center is adorned with large solar energy cells and has an exhibit on solar energy sponsored by the Jacksonville Electric Authority, making it the perfect place to teach visitors about electricity and energy conservation. Photovoltaic panels on the building's exterior convert sunlight to electricity and power the displays.
The nature center also highlights the Pleistocene Epoch with dioramas depicting life in Florida 2 million to 12,000 years ago. The dioramas are accompanied by fossils and replicas of ancient animal life.
A black bear exhibit is also present in the nature center. It describes the current status of Florida black bears and the threats faced by this subspecies.
Tree Hill also offers a Naturescape Animal Encounter. Each adventure is loaded with interesting facts, entertaining activities, and live critters.
