The church was built in the late 1890s by an Advent Christian minister. The church was dedicated in 1900 and was used for worship into the 1930s, after which the congregation disbanded and the church was vacant for several years. During the 1940s the church was utilized by other denominations until it was acquired by the Seventh-Day Adventists in 1947.
