There are no actual records per se, but a couple of historical accounts estimate that this building was built about the same time as the (now refurbished) train station across the way, in 1910. Scroggins was the local outlet for what evolved into Purina, but the company changed hands (and name) in the late 40s. There is another, smaller faded sign to the right of this one, but it is covered by a newer sign for Farmway Feed and Seed nailed on, so we don't know what that sign says. When looking for this sign, take care not to trespass on railroad property. The actual address for the barn is 280 West Sherman St., but the sign is around back.
