This little abandoned cemetery on the outskirts of Green Cove Springs is one of the most interesting spots in the area. This is the grave of James Weeks. I wasn't able to verify it is the same person, but there is a James Weeks of Green Cove Springs who was appointed sheriff by the governor after the murder of the sheriff. The listing notes James Weeks as serving as sheriff from 1895 - 1900 and 1906 - 1911. Per the grave marker, Sheriff Weeks died in 1911 so it may be the same person.
