Founded after astronauts perished when the Challenger rocket exploded, the Challenger Center contains an interactive space experience for groups of children or adults that continues the mission of that ill fated flight. Schools, boy and girl scouts, birthday groups and senior groups come to this center to go on a simulated mission into outer space.

Hours:
Public Missions are scheduled on the third Sunday of every month beginning at 2:00pm and are approximately three hours in duration. Missions to the Moon, to Mars, and to a Comet are offered on a monthly rotational basis. Tickets are $20 per person ($18 for seniors) and may be purchased in cash, by credit card or by a check made payable to the Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Center (LHVCC) on the day of the mission. It is recommended that participants be at least 9 years old; however, younger children (ages 6 - 8) may participate for $5 if accompanied by a paying adult. Children ages 5 and under are free. Reservations are highly recommended. Parents that wish to drop off older children (9 years and above) for a public mission must sign in the children, and leave a phone number where they can be reached.

Fee (if no fee, enter 'none'): $20 - $18 Seniors
