Brow Edge is an old industrial settlement that has now been bypassed by A590 trunk road. These are old cottages, hence the VR post box.

Brow Edge is actually in three parts, and has an old industrial past. At the turning off the modern A590 trunk road it is Low Brow Edge. Where the post box is oldest part amongst workers cottages. With High Brow Edge further up the road, with old school.
