Located off the Old Dixie Highway in Marietta, Ga you just can't help but notice the big chicken standing at the intersection of hwy 41 and hwy 120. The Chicken doesn't just sit idle either, it rolls it's eyes and it's beak opens and closes. Originally built in 1963 to promote Johnny Reb's a chicken and burger joint. Reb's went under and in 1974 the building was leased by KFC. When asking directions anywhere around the area, people seem to mention The Big Chicken in the details. It has even been used by pilots as a reference point when approaching Atlanta and Dobbins Air Reserve Base. It was heavily damaged by heavy winds that struck in 1993. A community outcry lead to it's repair and today you can get your chicken to eat as well as buy The Big Chicken souvenirs.
