Nova Scotia Control Survey Marker # 1597, is located on a small bluff about 2 km from the small village of Donkin on Cape Breton Iland Nova Scotia. To get to it proceed along H provincial road 4 east from Glace Bay, go towards the town center then along Bookside street to the east, From there head towards Tower Road and the port Morien highway or Marconi Trail. At the intersection of the Port Morien Hwy and No 6 Mines road take the route straight ahead through Donkin and proceed to the old Donkin Mine site near Schooner Pond. Parking is close to the Mine site. Proceed up a small hill along the coast to the survey marker.
