The 1/2 mile long sand beach in Beaver Island State Park is one of the finest, if not the best, in the Buffalo area. The beach is a concave shape along the shores of the Niagara River, and since it is located on the southern tip of Grand Island, there are some great views of the Canadian shoreline and Buffalo skyline to the south.

Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months, and cabana and chair rentals are available. There are no facilities for volleyball or other beach sports. A short walk from the beach is a small snack stand which offers up burgers, hot dogs, ice cream and other treats. There is an entrance fee of $8 to get into the park from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Type of beach: Natural
